Deer
In spring, bears will locate calving grounds and feed on the newborn. Deer fawns are especially at risk from black bears for the first few weeks of their lives. Black bears will first feed on the milk in the stomach then consume all of the fawn sometimes including the hooves. Mountain goats, elk, deer, moose and caribou are at risk from this kind of predation.
