Brown and black bears don't usually kill large animals like deer, elk, or moose. There are always exceptions; barren ground grizzlies will attack, kill, and eat musk oxen. Most often they kill the younger and smaller musk oxen, but they do kill adults which weigh 500-800 pounds. On several occasions the bears killed two to five musk oxen at once. scottdavisphotos.com
